Chosen Generation
You
don’t have to look very far to notice how the enemy has “upped” the
level of pressure and opportunities for our young people. Sex,
drugs, alcohol, porn, homosexuality, and witchcraft pour through
magazines, books, television, radio, etc. and seem to be penetrating
every sense realm imaginable. At times you might even perceive that
the very atmosphere around you is saturated with evil. Why?
Because I believe we are living among some of the most mighty
spiritual warriors of all time.
There is a rising army of believers who are a powerful force in the
kingdom of God. Often times they go by seemingly unnoticed. They
rank in age from the unborn to at least nineteen. They are a
generation who is hungry for the supernatural. They are passionate
about knowing their Lord and making a difference. Many are
beginning to get a revelation that they are the righteousness of God
in Christ Jesus, and have been given all authority over the power of
the enemy. They are rising up much like David when he confronted
Goliath bearing an indignant holy anger.
There is a network of young people behind the scenes interceding
while they lay in bed at night, participate on prayer teams and
corporate prayer with their parents or simply while they are
attending Sunday morning worship. You pass them in the grocery
isles, watch them play on basketball teams and even sit with them at
your own kitchen table. They may even appear to you as clumsy,
forgetful, irresponsible and silly, but in prayer, they get down to
business. They are partnering with their Heavenly Father to
accomplish His will in the earth. They leave their place of prayer
satisfied and full of purpose. Their life has meaning and many
carry a smile on their face and a twinkle in their eye. They always
have an answer of faith on their tongue and when things go wrong
they know the emergency first response: PRAY!!
Have you recognized yet that you are among chosen great ones? What
are we to do with them? What are we to do with the ones whom “we”
know they’re called, but they don’t know it yet? As parents and
grandparents, we are to raise them up in the nurture and admonition
of the Lord, regardless of what we see with our natural eyes. We
are to love them with the love described in I Corinthians 13, the
same love that God Himself is and expresses to us. And lastly, we
are to trust God, pray and release our children so that they may
flourish in the things that God has prepared for them that love
Him. May you be encouraged today as parents, grandparents and even
spiritual mothers and fathers to stay the course! Continue in the
things the Lord has entrusted in your care and seek Him for guidance
and the answers you need. You won’t be sorry as you sit on the
sidelines and watch these precious young ones that you mentored, who
are participating in ushering the coming of our Lord!
