I. Lordship of Jesus A. Ephesians 1:22, 23; Colossians 2: 9,10 1. All things are under His (Jesus) feet. 2. He (Jesus) is head over all things to the called out ones. 3. His body is the fullness of Him, Who fills all in all. B. Bowls (teaching aid) 1. Demonstration of a man being saved: Illustrating man having a spirit, soul, body and the Holy Spirit; then being placed into Christ's body. 2. When we are born again we are put in Him (John 15:4). In Christ, we are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). C. Body of Christ 1. The church (called out ones) is the literal Body of Christ. It is not an organization, but an organism (Ephesians 5:30 KJV). 2. We are all the SAME new creature (Romans 12:5; Galatians 3:26-29). When you were born again, you were put into the Body of Christ. The Body of Christ is the new creature. We are a member of this new creature, a member in particular (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; 2 Corinthians 5:17). 3. The new creature is also called the new man (Ephesians 4:24). Characteristics of the "new man". a. Righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:24). b. Peace (Ephesians 2:14; John 16:33). c. Joy (Romans 14:17; John 15:11). d. Faith (Galatians 2:20; 3:25). Take your position in peace; take your position in joy. Then you can't get away from it. If you try to manufacture peace, it won't remain. The fruit of the Spirit is His fruit (Galatians 5:22, 23). Abide in Him, and His fruit will manifest in your life. If you remain in Him, the fruit will remain. If you need to forgive, get in the One Who is forgiveness and let if flow out of you (2 Corinthians 2:10; Ephesians 4:32). D. Supernatural Body of Christ 1.Why was His body called the new creation? a. After the crucifixion, His body was laying there lifeless, just like Adam. b. Day of resurrection - the Spirit of God raised Him up. c. That body came out of the tomb. There had never before been a body like that on the earth; it is a new creature. 2. He came in through the walls (John 20:19-31). No body that you can touch, feel, and see can pass through a brick wall. 3. This body had flesh and bones. Notice He doesn't say anything about blood in that body (Luke 24:39, 40). Perhaps we have the blood that makes that body alive on the earth. 4. That body ate fish and honeycomb. It became a part of what He was. The natural (fish and honeycomb) became supernatural, a part of the supernatural body. When we are put into that body, we become a part of that supernatural body. We become a supernatural being in a natural world. Jesus lived on the earth for 33 years as a flesh and blood man with the same limitations as any other man. However, He lived in His Father the same way we are to live IN HIM. He demonstrated for us how to live in the supernatural. Walking on the water was normal for Him, because He was abiding in His Father and therefore was not subject to natural things. When we live in Christ, we are not subject to natural elements either. E. Position in the Body of Christ 1. We are seated in heavenly places IN HIM (Ephesians 2:6). 2. He is the new and living way (Hebrews 10:19, 20). 3. We can go boldly to the throne of grace IN HIM (Hebrews 4:16). 4. Knowing your inheritance in Him causes you to enter that throne room in a different position. You have authority to make declarations and proclamations (Luke 9:1, 2). See yourself seated with Him declaring and decreeing with thanksgiving as though you have authority. F. Inheritance in Him 1. All of the promises are IN HIM (2 Corinthians 1:20). 2. We have an inheritance in Him (Ephesians 1:11; Romans 8:17; Acts 26:18). 3. The meaning of the word "ask" in James 4:2 means to make a demand. We can make a demand on our inheritance in Him. (We do not need to make a demand of the Lord. He has already given it to us. We need to demand, in Jesus name, that the devil loose it!). G. Authority in Him 1. No man possesses authority. It goes with a position. Example: The President of the United States is elected a couple of months before he takes office. He may be the duly elected president, but he doesn't possess authority until the day he takes the position. It is the same with us. Until we take our position in Christ, we have no authority. 2. We have been given authority and privilege to be His children (John 1:12). 3. Principalities are under Jesus' feet. We are in Him, so they are under our feet (Ephesians 1:21, 22; Psalm 110:1). 4. We are to rule in the midst of our enemy (Psalm 110:2). 5. We are to put on the whole armor of God to stand against the plots of the enemy (Ephesians 6:11). The armor is the glorified Body of Christ (Romans 13:12, 14). H. Renewing Your Mind 1. We can't function in Christ if we think like a natural man and we are alive. We must understand we died and our life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). There cannot be two heads. Christ is the head of the body. (If we understand that our flesh man died with Him, then we will understand that a dead man cannot be offended). 2. We are transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:1, 2; Ephesians 4:22-24). Renewing our mind is not fixing it; it is eliminating it and replacing it with the mind of Christ. 3. If we see ourselves as the old man we will BE the old man. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7a). What is in a man's heart is what he will speak (Matthew 12:34). You chart the course of your life by what you speak (Matthew 12:35; Proverbs 18:21). 4. We must renew our minds to receive the things of God. As we take on the mind of Christ, we will be able to receive teaching that will take us to higher levels. 5. The Holy Spirit will give you revelation of your position in Christ if you will seek Him for it. John 16:23, 24 says, "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be full." (We said earlier that the meaning of the word ask was to make a demand. Another meaning for that word is to search for something hidden). Taste and see that God is good. All has been done for you (1 Corinthians 1:30). 6. No man can pluck us out of the Father's hand (John 10:27-29). Nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:38, 39). He is our refuge (Psalm 46:1).Stop and think about all of this! Be fully persuaded. Accept God's word; make the decision. Change the world by changing your position. Before he comes back, His glory will fill the earth through His body. Before judgment, He always sends a demonstration of His power and announcement of His word. His life will flow through you to meet the needs of others. He gives gifts as He wills to fulfill His purposes in each situation. I. Carnal Mind 1. The carnal mind is an enemy against God and is not subject to the law of God nor can it be (Romans 8:7). Don't try to fix it. Just use Christ's mind that you have been given (1 Corinthians 2:16). 2. The headship of Jesus will not share with the carnal mind. 3. The carnal mind will keep you sin-conscious and lead to death (Romans 8:6).
4. The carnal
mind will steal your power and position 5. Operating with a carnal mind means you are a babe in Christ and cannot eat spiritual meat (1 Corinthians 3:1-3). If you are carnally minded, you are living as though you are still alive in the flesh - walking according to man and are under dominion of the law (Romans 7:1). 6. The carnal man has faith in himself. The spiritual man takes his position in Christ and operates on His (Christ's) faith. 7. The natural or carnal mind does not receive the things of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14). 8. Destroy the power of carnal thinking in your life by reckoning your old man (flesh man) dead to sin and alive to God in your spirit man - new man in Christ (Romans 6:11). Declare who you are IN Christ. J. The Mystery 1. The mystery of the Body of Christ has been hidden. 2. Jesus taught everything in parables (Matthew 13:34, 35). 3. He said on the cross, "It is finished." 4. Satan wouldn't have crucified Him had he known that God was going to raise Him up and put us into that body protecting us from principalities and powers (1 Corinthians 2:7, 8). 5. God tells us to come and reason with Him (Isaiah 1:18). Ask, seek, and knock (Matthew 7:7, 8). Go after it - it is revealed by His Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:10-12). 6. He has known us from the foundation of the world and purposed to put us in Him (Ephesians 1:4, 5; 2 Timothy 1:9). Close your eyes and visualize being a particular part of Christ's Body, His calling. Believe and receive to the next level. Prayer: Declare that Satan will not steal the word. We will see and take our position, so His glory will fill the earth. It's all about Jesus. He's coming for a spotless bride which really is His own flesh and bone (Ephesians 5:30 KJV). Praise God! Mrs. Jesus Christ.
